General and service questions

Are you licensed?

Yes. We are registered with Victoria Police for security installation and with ACMA for data cabling. Our numbers are on our licences page.

Is the site check really free?

Yes. We visit, talk through options and send an itemised quote with no obligation.

Do you work on systems installed by others?

Yes. We service, repair and take over most Hikvision, HiLook, Dahua, Ness and Hills systems, plus many other common brands.

Which areas do you cover?

All of metropolitan Melbourne: north, west, east, south-east and inner suburbs.

How do I get a quote?

Use any quote form on the site or call 0411 498 309. We call back the same business day.

What warranty do I get?

A 12-month workmanship warranty, plus the manufacturer’s warranty and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

How much does CCTV installation cost in Melbourne?

Our 4-camera HiLook home system is $1,599.00 fully installed for a standard single-storey home. Other systems depend on the number of cameras, how hard the cable runs are and how many weeks of recording you want. Your free site check gives you a fixed, itemised price.

Can I watch my cameras on my phone?

Yes. We install the Hik-Connect or DMSS app on your phone, and anyone else you choose, and test live view and playback with you before we leave.

How much does a home alarm cost in Melbourne?

Our Hills Reliance XR alarm kit with a TouchNav keypad and 3 Optex detectors is $1,499.00 fully installed for a standard single-storey home. Larger homes, extra detectors and monitoring add to the price. Your site check gives you a fixed, itemised quote.

Wired or wireless, which is better?

Wired alarms are the most reliable and never need sensor batteries, but need cable runs. Wireless sensors install faster with less mess, and need new batteries every few years. Many homes use a mix.

How much does access control cost?

It depends on the number of doors and gates, the lock hardware each door needs and how many users you manage. Your free site check gives you a fixed, itemised quote.

What happens if someone loses a fob?

You cancel it in the app or software straight away and issue a new one. No locksmith and no new keys for everyone.

Do I need a registered cabler?

Yes. In Australia, phone and data cabling in homes and businesses must be done by a registered cabler. We are ACMA registered, so the work is legal and compliant.

How much does a data point cost?

It depends on the number of points, cable run length and wall and ceiling access. Two-storey homes, long runs and concrete walls take longer. Your free site check gives you a fixed, itemised quote.

What happens at a health check?

We test every camera, recording and playback, the hard drive, alarm sensors and batteries, door hardware and backup power. We update firmware, clean and re-aim cameras, and give you a short report.

How often should my system be serviced?

At least once a year for homes. Businesses and strata buildings usually choose every six months, as their systems work harder.
